Volunteer Advocate Network
What is a Compassion volunteer advocate?
At Compassion, we know our sponsors have a heart for the poor. But for some, sponsoring is only a first step. If you long to find other ways to improve the lives of children living in desperate poverty then becoming a Compassion advocate could be just for you!
Compassion advocates come in all ages, shapes and sizes! They are united together by their God-given passion and desire to challenge and mobilise those around them to help change the lives of children living in poverty and to become a voice for those whose cries go unheard.
What does a Compassion volunteer advocate do?
There is no ‘one-size fits all’, but here are some of the things you can do:
- Help sign-up new Compassion sponsors at conferences, conventions, partner artist concerts and other events.
- Promote and represent Compassion’s ministry in your church or school and recruit new sponsors.
- Share about Compassion child sponsorship with friends, family, neighbours and colleagues.
- Look for new opportunities to raise awareness of the issues facing children in poverty.
- Seek out new opportunities to present Compassion child sponsorship.
How will I be equipped?
Every new advocate becomes a member of a regional advocate team and is provided with on-going training, resources and support from a team leader, as well as input from the Compassion state advocate coordinator.
How do I become a volunteer advocate?
You are eligible to become a volunteer advocate if you are a current Compassion sponsor and an Australian resident.
