When peace comes from Jesus, it becomes more than a segment of time free from earthly disturbances. More than a fleeting moment of 'quiet'.
True peace is a state of being. It's faithfully following God's plan for you, living every day completely content with where He has placed you. It's not having to wonder what life might have been like if you followed a different path.
Peace is fully trusting God, without any fear. Peace is sleeping in the middle of a storm.
"Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him. Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. The disciples went and woke him, saying, "Lord, save us! We're going to drown!"
He replied, "You of little faith, why are you so afraid?" Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.
The men were amazed and asked, "What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!" —Matthew 8:23-27
Through Jesus, we can face even the toughest times with unshakable peace—all we need to do is ask.
